Progressive Boys Club
Website and Data Mapping - UX/UI & Data Visualisation Project 2023
A fictional project for the Masters of Design program at UNSW.
The ‘Progressive Boy’s Club’ is a research and data visualisation based project which aimed to look at the Vice-Chancellors within NSW universities. As a means of proving that even within the most progressive areas in our society and culture, the presence of a Boy’s Club persists. It remains to be something that as a country we are unable and unwilling to shake.
The data was collected on the previous three vice-chancellors from each university, looking back at their CV (inclusive of boards, committees, jobs, etc.) and tracking and connecting this data up against each other. Through this, being able to prove that the men in these elite roles are
existing within the same spaces. Whilst many of the women lack any connections at all.
This was completed in a means to prove what women are up against when trying to fight for
a seat at the table, the distance they must cover when pushing to equality, and the steps they have to overcome in fighting the patriarchy.
